It may take one or two years for newly planted peonies to establish themselves and bloom. Sometimes one has to wait for the third year for them to become prolific bloomers. Here is a photo recap of some of the lovely herbaceous cultivars blooming for the first time in the Spring of 2022.

Fall is the best time to plant peony bare roots. Peony vendors and growers may open their mail-order catalogs as soon as January for future delivery in October. Do not forget to maximize the blooming period by choosing early to late bloomers.
